Programs

Margaret is responsible for the Division's Aged Care Program and provides advice and information to GPs on aged care issues and services in the local area, government and non-government programs. The Aged Care Program collaborates with local falls awareness and prevention programs and advanced care planning information.

Margaret also looks after the Rural Palliative Care Program. The aim of the Program is to consider and develop processes which will assist in delivering high quality and consistent care to palliative patients within the Wingecarribee Shire. The project works with GPs and staff from the Public and Private Hospital, residential aged care facilities, community health and private duty nursing agencies and is funded until June 2010.

The Nursing in General Practice program is part of Margaret's role and provides professional development and a network of support for nurses working in GP practices. It also provides information to GPs and Practice Managers regarding the employment of nurses and professional issues concerning general practice nurses. Margaret also has information about local nurses who are looking for employment as Practice Nurses.
